An extensive and signposted cycle network leads comfortably through the lovely, unspoiled Lungauer landscape. The Murrad trail is especially popular with families.
High points for cyclists are the “Tour de Mur” and the bike events. The Lungau also offers motorbike lovers a diverse variety of trails. Mountain and high altitude tours reward the rider with breathtaking panoramas and lovely rest areas.

In the sunny Talbecken of the Lungau holiday region at St. Michael there is a wonderful golf course, whose 18-hole competition as well as 9-hole practice area are ecologically integrated in an impressive riparian landscape with ponds and wet biotopes. Novices and more advanced players will find happiness on the 9-hole course of the GC Lungau. Eight par 3 and one par 4 offer everything that a golf course needs – compact and fair but friendly and fitted with obstacles.

In Mauterndorf there are 4 Nordic Walking routes that offer more than 20 km of walking pleasure. In this type of targeted hiking with carbon sticks, you will train your whole walking apparatus as well as heart and blood circulation.
A unique feature in Lungau is the Nordic Fitness Park Schönfeld; as especially in winter it provides an opportunity to try out the Nordic sports. Medical studies have shown that from 1,500 m above sea level there is a clear health advantage – with your sporting activity you achieve at 1,740 m more stamina, strengthening of the blood circulation, and immune system and many other advantages that quickly make themselves positively felt.
